    • From ownership to stewardship
      • God knows and loves them more than you
      • We are not author of their story
      • Steward of their beginning
    • Behavior to heart
      • Created distance from God to us
      • Inside out, not monitor behavior

      • Over controlling parents would have worked

    Practical parenting

    • Presence over perfection
      • Emotionally, physically,
    • Conversation over correction
      • Get curious on what is going on the inside
      • Get them to process hard things on their own
    • Modeling over messaging
      • Do what I say, not what I do
      • Handle stress
    • Grace over performance
      • Heart of God

        • Father never stops being ready for them to return home

    Days are long
    Years are short

    Your voice will be in their head

    Can it be gentle, advocacy, encouraging

    False voice says

    • Culturally says pride is strength
      • James 3:5 – God opposes the proud and grace to humble

      • Cost of confession equates silence is a slippery slope

      • Get big or small. Harsh or quiet
        • 2 cor 12:9 boast in weakness

    Anyone trying to save their life will lose it

    Be willing to lose it all

    One dimensional salvation ticket to heaven

    Def today: full work of God to forgive, restore , and transform us to be like Jesus

    Sin condemns and enslaved thru guilt

    Sin because of brokenness

    Not Sick because of the flu

    We have the flu because we are sick

    No will or discipline will fix sin

    Salvation is divine intervention, not self improvement

    Sin destroys what God loves most – people

    Cannot just ignore and

    ON the cross Jesus took what belonged to us for us to take what belonged to Him

    Sin made us homeless. Removed from Eden. Removed from the father’s house

    Lost their identity. Lost their inheritance. Lost the provision

    Saved from and what we are being saved for

    Jesus knew what he was saving us for

    Buy out of the marketplace

    Redemption not the goal

    Adoption was the goal into sonship

    Opened the door (better than forgiveness and freedom)

    Sojourn, yet seeking Home at the father’s house

    God is not done with you as a believer. He will finish a good work

    We are being saved

    Being transformed

    Until Christ returns

    While in the darkest day, Christ died for us

    So when we come to the Lord

    He will say you are already forgiven

    We are not trying to get into heaven

    We are trying to get heaven into us

    Bring your problems to Jesus

    Baptize them in the Living Water

    You cannot take the kingdom by force

    My selfish ambitions are dying at the alter

    Never let go what God has given you

    The more authority

    The more responsibility

    The more trust

    Requires more patience

    Requires more humbleness

    Required more gentleness

    Requires more connection to the vine

    To produce the fruit of the vine

    To whom much is given

    Much is entrusteda

    And judged by the same rule

    Fear is beginning of reality

    Sincerity matters
