Sun exposure

20251029

Random tinkering around the house

Decided to come into the house to pay respects to my worldly money master

It was also getting hot outside anyway

I know the UV index is the worst at noon anyway

Well it was not noon nor the highest height in the sky

Wonder what the recommended “stay out of sun because UV index is high” time is

What is considered high?

Is noon always the highest?

Are other seasons of the year higher?

Does my location matter relative to the equator?

The highest point possible is a useful reference

How about using the equinox as the starting point

General recommendation is two hours on each side of it

So 4/12 or 1/3 of the day is recommended to stay shaded from the sun

  • Google says for Ventura –
    • The max altitude during summer ~79.5°
    • Average altitude during equinox ~56°
    • Randomly choosing 20%… 🔗
