Maybe you got lazy. Maybe you got distracted. Maybe you cared too much about someone else’s opinions. Maybe you got tired of standing your ground.

I have definitely gotten lazy.

I can remember in high school, coming home from playing tackle football with friends

I don’t remember if I was exhausted from staying up late playing video games last night

Or exhausted from the week of trying to stay afloat in the roughest quarter of academia I’ve ever had

Or disappointed in not playing well

But I barely made it home

Opened the garage

Slowly pulled in

While slowly closing my eyes

*crunch*

Oh right

I had my oversized clip board that had my art coal project on it

And now I HAVE a puncture in the car and garage wall
